Restricting and Derestricting

Hi there I have a gs500f (my first proper bike) and as I am only 19 I had to have it restricted.
I can get it derestricted soon and I have the original parts for the bhp restriction, the thing is the dealer wants to charge an arm and a leg for it to be done, so i was just wondering does anyone know where the kits go and how to do it.
