On Sunday there's a MotoGP race that's being shown on Speed Channel, if anyone's interested. I've never seen a race, so I'm pumped. Check for your local listing, but I read that the GP is at 2 and the 250cc class is at 3 (both Eastern time). I think the race is in Qatar.

I read that Rossi crashed in the first turn in the first race of the season and team Yamaha has been working to reduce the wobbles that have plagued him and him teammates on the M1s. This should be fun to watch.

Just thought I'd let you know, although anyone who's interested probably already knew.

I'm interested and I didn't know.

It would have been helpful to mention the start times in the central time zone, however.

Speed has great coverage.  Qatar is a pretty unique track, practically flat with zero elevation change.  There are also miles of runout so they can tempt fate and still have an out.  After you watch for a while, you will start to see the irrelevance of massively increasing horsepower.  Of the tracks that I could find with easily located lap records, MotoGP, 125, 250, FormX, SuperB usually fall within a less than 10% spread of lap times.  Plus 125 racers are like flyweight boxers.  It's not the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog.

Oh man, those MotoGP machines sound AMAZING. When they fire up you can hear them from a long long way away. It's indescribable.

I got to see last year's GP in California and it was an amazing experience. Absolutely thrilling.

I'm sure you can figure it out.

Man, I'm getting more and more excited about it. Finally, something to look forward to on a Sunday during Spring (not big on baseball).

Are there races pretty much every week now? My buddy has satellite, so I may have to start swinging by there Sundays.

Kool.  TV Guide.  My mom got that in the mail when I was a kid.

Now my biggest problem is that I don't have the Speed Network.

I am going to call a friend that does and have him TiVo/DVR it for  me. . .
