I have a loop I like to take thats 30 miles round trip when im just out for local ride. There's a 6 mile section that has 43 turns, and ascends then descends over 600'.

Hwy9 from the 76 gas station to the top at Hwy35/Skyline Blvd., also known as 'Four corners'.  The most tight, technical turns, curves, switchbacks, "S" turns, and hairpins.  Don't how many, but I have them all memorized.  Up and down.

1431 and Park Road 4 are my two favorite roads in Texas, I think.

144 from State College up to Renovo, PA is a sweet ride.  Very popular in these parts.

When I'm out for a short scoot, I'll shoot up to Bellefonte and take 144 over the mountain to Centre Hall and back.

I also really enjoy Skyline Drive in VA.  The southern half is some of the best riding I have ever had.  Way less traffic than the northern half.

Not much around here.  Lots of straight.  Just a few short roads with any curves worth apexing without going fast enough to get time.

I can't wait to get to Arkansas in a few weeks, and get on Highway 9 near Mountain View.  I remember getting queasy as a teenager on that road in a car.  Should be some good practice, and loads of fun.

If I am riding around Indy I usually like to hit Fall Creek Rd.  If I have the time I like to go down to Brown County and ride St. Rd.  135 til it connects with St Rd 58 and take that to St Rd 446 which runs into Bloomington.

no twisties here.

I just moved down from N. Georgia.   and lower Alabama is starting to really dissapoint.  I haven't found one decent twisty road.

everything is as straight as an arrow.  or a long swooping curve you'd have to go 110mph to enjoy.

Anyone from Lower Alabama that knows different please let me know.  I have tried google map and still NADA.

zilch- without migrating to FLA.  as far a google can tell.   there are afew dirtbike tracks so i'll be getting into that while I'm here, but man do I miss the N. GA hills.

hopefully in june I will get to go camping at DEALS GAP and ride the dragons tail hwy129.

But locally I am doomed for striaghtaways.

Sounds like you'll need to find a freeway cloverleaf (on/off ramps).

not around here man.   this is backwoods country area around this post.  the twistiest road around here is hwy27
and my speedo doesn't drop below 70mph unless I am stopping.

even then I barely get to lean the bike over, just clean wide open curves.

now i'm depressed. I'm gonna go sit on the GS and make wroom vroom noises. that'll make me feel better.  :dunno_white:

Next suggestion: Time the left hand lights so you can enter the intersection at speed.  Same thing with right hand turns at lights.  Late night retail outlet or mall parking lot crazy eights around lamposts...

Yahoo maps - map out a "race course" in your local residential area, there's gotta be some 'S' turns or elbows to explore.

here is  FT RUCKER.  I am telling you this place is great for a cruiser which is OK cause I do ride with a few from the CMA motorcycle association. (no I am not christian)

but I yearn for the turn. ah.....the turn.  I am sure I will find something.  I usually just get on the bike and try my best to get lost. thats how I found the best roads in N. GA.

3imo, I feel very sorry for you and will attack at least 60 miles of twisties on your behalf this weekend. I hope you enjoy hearing about them.

Absolute Rescue

I found my favorite joy ride yesterday. Harriman State park entering off old rt 17 in NY. Then down 7 Lakes Drive, to rt 6, over to bear mountain. Some great twisties and some pretty open road with little traffic on the weekends. It worked out to about 70 miles from my house and back with all the stops we made.

3imo, what do you say to a nice round of kicking 2005-GS500-PDX right in the carbs?  Or maybe we can just make fun of him for not living where he can ride all year. :)

been all through there.  nothing to write home to momma about.

and On post near the lake is mostly "tank trails" usually unrideable and 45 mph posted.  I try not to speed on post. Those bastards are very strict.

I don't mean to sulk. I still love to ride.  just no twisties here.  I can deal.   hopefully I don't lose the knack for leaning the bike down for when I make my runs at DEALS GAP.

Thanks for looking though.  buy yourself a beer on me.
