Because they were either mounted on there with an impact gun, or really corroded on and the bolts were super hard to take out considering all I had was an Allan key and a wrench to use as leverage. Got half way through the first bolt and said F-it. I probably shoulda masked them off, next time.

I got a little bit of paint on the inside of the rear rotor; you can't even see it when it's on the bike so I'm not worried about it. And I don't think it was just locktite because usually you just have to break the seal and the bolt will come out easily when it has locktite on it. This was constantly hard to get out. I got the bolt so it was about half way out and the thing was still a bit<h to turn. if I was at work and had an impact gun I would have taken them off .

your right about that locktite on the rotor.

usually they hard to break and are easy to remove.
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

BTW... this paint in the states is Rustoleum. The industro-heavy duty stuff they sell @ every Home Depot etc. This paint's popularity has been spreading like wildfire in the past few months... I've seen entire cars on honda-tech.com (largest honda technical resource online) and they got it from a site where a guy painted his older domestic (the exact model slips my mind) and his VW beetle.

The key I hear is to not just paint it straight up but to use several coats of highly diluted paint. as in... 5:1 paint to mineral spirits. This will prevent orange peel.

(I think this is my first post on this board :) ) I will be picking up a GS this weekend and decided to find a good online resource. Any paint questions, feel free to message me. I paint cars as a hobby in the summer and to make a lil extra cash.
New to motorcycles.... old fart with Turbo Hondas. :)
