Well doesn't put all other mods to shame but I came up with this one on my own. My keys were scratching the paint off my handlebar and jingling while I rode. They would also wedge themselves underneath my bar making them a PITA to take outta the bike. So here is my mod to stop all that.  :2guns:

I'll take scratches over that thing any day!

Reminds me of your old BMX bike when you were younger that had all of the foam padding wrapped around the frame. Not sure how I feel about this one, though.

ever think of keeping the bike key seperate?

My keys were scratching up the top of my triples, so I keep the bike key and my other keys separate now.

Man, I want some wine right now. Some pinot noir...yeah, that sounds nice

I had the same problem and had to buy one of the ugly fake C/F triple tree covers to hide it.The only drawback to keeping the key seperate is I find I constantly leave it in the ignition or the tail.

my jacket has a little key fob built in.  I leave the key seperate from my collection.

so sense in scratching the GS, ...and....no sense in this mod....IMO o'course.

Good ol enduro influenced mod. Me hates the key buz, so I just use my leather Wileyco fob now. Thanks Wileyco!
No time to wash the bike

Alphamazing

Not bad, but it doesn't help when the keys get lodged in between the guages and the top plate. The top plate is still gonna get scratched up too, unfortunately.

Actually, I had this problem too.
So I took some foam padding and zip tied it around each one of my keys.  The only draw back is that it looks like I've got a massive boner when I put the key ring in my front pocket.  But that's just how I roll.

That's an interesting idea.  Did you happen to do a write up?

I had that problem too, I believe my mod bests yours because it also changes how the bike drives and completly removes the bar from the center.

Too bad I sold the bike,
