Hyosung was actually a company under Suzuki's control for a while. They split off with their own derivatives of a few Suzuki bikes. The GS650 uses the SV motor, too, just a few other different (lower quality) components to let the price drop.

Then you have the GT250, which is sorta like the GS500 with USD forks, a 150 rear tire on a 4.5 inch rim (I think), bolt-on passenger peg brackets, and a 250cc 4-valve-per V-Twin making ~27.5 HP and 21TQ.

They're making some cute little cruisers, too.

Definitely looks better than an SV. One of the biggest reason I'm not upgrading to an SV are the dated looks.

You're riding a GS E, and the SV looks dated to you?  Huh? :cookoo: :icon_mrgreen:

I can see the SV roots.  Pretty damn identical.  The overall shape of the fairing is better, but the SVs headlights are cooler.
And at the end of the day, it is still a Hyosung.
If I had my choice, I'd still take the SV.  But I do wish the SV had upside down forks.

Many of the ancients believe that Jake D was made of solid stone.
