Sparco USA makes leather boots for auto racers... now I'm not into fast road and track racing - I enjoy the good slow speed handling of the GS500 and its ability to get through the city in a snap- anyone have advice about buying a set of these boots for riding?

lots of colours to choose from, though not the cheapest option around. Similar to the Vendramini aero boot in price and styling

they look like they would be soft, moccasin like boots - not sure if they would make good motorcycle boots. the auto racers are going for feel and grip i think.

I wouldn't ride in those.  Laces + Chain = Amputation.  Get some velcro and/or zipper closing motorcycle boots.

I think these are a better option:

Puma Vincitore Mid. Full leather, all laces covered and secured with velcro. Has a little gear shifting thing, too.

Those have Little-to-no ankle protection... Which is probably the most important thing in a riding boot from a safety standpoint.

Dude, if you're wearing high tops, might as well go for the old skool Chuck Taylors.

why wear shoes?

Why even have feet? Feet are for wussies. You gotta be either:
a) hardcore to the max and shift with your hands by reaching down (or forward in a wheelie) and do a clutchless upshift with your hand)
b) an FJ1300AE rider
c) Hondamatic!
d) A non-motorcycling scooter rider
