Ugh,  the bike is at it again.  After working fine for the last 2 years.  Today on my way to work it started sputtring under acceleration.  Now it'll start after several attempts, and it's running super rich.   I don't how this could happen between Friday and Today.  Anyways, Fuel is just dripping from the airbox drain hose, and I'm always seeing and the exhaust smells really rich.  It also won't hold idle for long.  Any input with the current gas prices is greatly appreciated.

Sticky float, as mentioned, or worn flot valve needle.

Also, if fuel flows when the bike is standing your petcock is in the wrong position or  broken. It should normally interrupt fuel flow as soon as the engine stops.

Grainbelt

sticky float or worn o-rings in the carb. Mine was both, I did a full carb rebuild this spring after having the same problems when I started it up after storage.

Good luck! its really not that hard once you get into it. :thumb:

I'll ask anyway. How the hell did you get the larger fuel hose to hold on the vacuum nipple?

Or a piece of debris is lodged in between the float needle and seat.  To flush it out, set the frame mounted fuel selector to PRI and open the floatbowl drainscrews for a few seconds.  Do one floatbowl at a time, and hook up a hose to the floatbowl drain spigot to direct the fuel to a container.
