2002 genuwine oil leak or chain fling? w/pics

I'm trying to figure out whether this is serious or not... I used to think it was chain fling but its been going on for a good month and a half now. Its just a few drips around the blue arrows until it cools back down then it stops. If I take the piece with the suzuki cover off too look at the gasket, whats underneath? sorry about the pic sizing.

Unless I'm badly mistaken, about 3 liters of oil.  The chain only goes to the back cover (the one with the little plate on it).  That's the LH crankcase cover.

First I would just clean up behind the sprocket cover, then I would check the torque on each of the bolts holding the left crankcase cover (check torque when cold).
If neither fixes the problem, change the gasket.

  I ran over a raccoon and decided his fur would make a good addition to my frame downtubes - naw its my fur, I was leaning over to look at the camera screen when I shot it.

I hadnt thought of checking the torque, if they are fine then when I pull the cover, other than draining the oil first, will anything pop out at me?

i always just assumed it was chain fling on my 96.  i have that all the time.

Geezzz if I saw that much oil on my garage floor I would be concerned. Thats a duff gasket if ever I saw one. No way should that much lube get flung off a chain and even if it did it wouldnt land on the frame in that area.  I agree with Scratch. Pull the cover off, 10 bolts hold it on, replace the gasket and torque the bolts back up to to about 11Nm. Behind the cover is the flywheel and the generator stator (coils), drain the oil first and be carefull with the generator cables as the coils will stay inside the cover. When you are done, start using Castrol chain-wax or something similar to lube your chain, its effective easy to use and doesnt leave stains on the garage floor and you wont confuse it for an oil-leak. Get a manual, and you cant go wrong doing the job.
