Mesh Jackets rule although anything below 21C you will get cold but above 30C they rock it feels like you are riding with a TShirt on but you get much better protection although watch out you can dehydrate in them due to the wind on your skin but that was over a five hour ride :thumb:

I think I'm going to have to switch to mesh here very soon.  I'm just skeptical because I've heard mesh will just shred once it hits the pavement.  Is there any truth to that??

Like I said, I've crashed in a Fieldsheer Mach 1 mesh jacket at about 50mph. It faired well enough to use for a few weeks until I got the Mach 3.

A few busted seams, some mesh that needed stitching up to keep it from flapping, and some padding wear, but otherwise alright. I trust my mesh gear, but there are brands I wouldn't trust. IMO, Icon and Joe Rocket mesh aren't good quality. I like how the Fieldsheer jackets have CE armor.

I like those pictures, I think I'll look pretty carefully at getting one of those. Then I just need mesh pants that will hold up comparably well.

If you think you don't need a helmet, you probably don't

Anyone here have the Joe Rocket Rio??? Its only $54 on new enough.  I'm considering that one and the Tour Master Draft for $80.  I did look at the Joe Rocket Reactor with leather and mesh but I think it will probably be just as hot as my Meteor while sitting in traffic and its also $170.
