ALPHA !!! where are you?

both mine were less than 20mph.  still hurt like a biatch, though.

first time in gravel, I pulled the front brake.
2nd time I just lost control on take off

both times-- less than 6mos riding and no MSF
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

:o get what, nick :icon_confused:

Roos......I think  :icon_rolleyes:

He was talking about oil spills. Miami is known for their oil-free roads. But NOT their oil-free babes.

Anyways, this brings up a topic I wanted to ask about, and it is on the same tangent as this, so here goes...

For those of you who have laid it down, did you utilize your insurance, and how did that affect your rates? Just curious about where the break-even point is with fixing it yourself VS claiming it on your insurance and getting hit with higher rates.

Since we seem to be talking about fast and slow crashes .... I think I can top the slowest cat.

How 'bout not even being anywhere near the bike ... nothing touches it .... but it falls over.

Damn wind! (50mph+)

 Oh, I know ... stop, stop, really. I'd like to thank the academy ...
Bet you can't drink a whole gallon of milk in one hour!

120 km/h / roughly 75 mph. Not an experience I intend to repeat, though I came away almost unscathed. My gear is another story.

Damage to the bike was also minimal: Bar ends, turn indicators, case protector bars, Headlight chrome ring, footpeg, central stand, mirror. All just scratched; she was rideable.

Here I am!

I've had two at around 50mph (probably a little less for the first, a little more for the second).

I'm hoping if I ever lay her down, I can tuck my legs, hold on and get minimal damage to myself on my 500F.  Yes, the fairing is not a "full" fairing, but it has to save meat.  Having said that, knock on wood and I swear I hope those car and truck drivers can pay more attention.  I have a lot to live for........great job, beautiful wife, son is a 21 month awesome miracle, etc..........life is too good to have it cut short.

I read some reviews about protective wear before riding.  Honda course taught me to ALWAY wear a helmet, which I do, full face.  I bought a Joe Rocket jacket that has the "added" plastic? plates in it in places, and unfortunately, from reading this forum, my Joe Rocket Atomic gloves are not going to give my hands the adequate protection I believe I need.  I'll be shopping for some better ones.

Note:  Wife takes the Honda Beginners course in two weeks.  I hope she wants a sport bike, maybe a CBR600RR so we can switch back and forth and also ride together.......
