Will EBC FA231HH pads be ok for the rotor on the GS?

Can I use the FA231HH FRONT pads on my 2004 GS500F. Anybody know if the stock Tokico pads are HH because I see a model number and two H's on another location on the pad.


I just dont want to screw up the rotor by using the wrong pad compound.

I put the EBC HH pads on the front of my 02 last Nov and only have about 4k miles on them so far.  No doubt they will wear the rotor a bit faster than the organic pad but most don't keep their GS500 beginner's bikes long enough to measure the difference.   :laugh:

Just put the EBC HH pads on the rear and wow, like having twin disc fronts now.   :thumb:  The stopping power of both the front and rear HH pads is imediately noticeable, much improved.

I turned my front rotor blue twice and faded out the front brake completely once in the mountain twisties with much hard downhill braking while playing.  This was with the EBC organic pads (black).  Won't happen with the HH pads.

Makes the rear brake so much stronger that I would recommend at least 100k miles of GS500 experience before trying the HH on trhe rear unless your trying to be the world low side champ!   :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Man, I loved the HH pads on my '01.  Those things actually made my bike feel like it would stop.  Before, my GS had that, 'hit the brakes early, and someday it'll stop' feeling that I first experienced in my pop-in-law's Jeepster Commando, and later in my dad's '66 mustang.  Runsilent is 100% right though, in the rear they will lock up so quick you won't know what hit you, so practice modulation.
