A siphon works well... I find the ones with the little glass ball in them to work by far the best...

Or you could take the fuel hoses off the petcock and drain into a gas can...

Or you could just ride it and wait till it runs out of gas.

So many options with a motorcycle.  :)

Hope that helps! I'd personally go with the siphon though.

Probally easiest to just drain it into a container from the petcock. Their are several ways to removes rust I've heard some people use acid of some sort? Their are job specific products out their, I'd research some more. I've heard positive feedback about kream, g'luck.

Srinath is the guy who has posted a lot about chemicals for cleaning tanks. I think he goes for "Kream"

Any of the ways mentioned will do it, however you may well find it simplest to drain it from the petcock first and then remove the tank so that you can up-end it and consequently slosh your chosen chemical around inside it. removing the tank is pretty simple and there is a good illustratiuon of how to do it on Kerry's "Valve Adjustment" video which has been posted here and I believe is now available on Google.

Ok.. I know the enviromentalists will kick my A$$ but I just took mine to the local "Spray n Wash" and took the power washer nozel and stuck it in the tank and blasted it about 6 times... SOOOO much crap came out!

Then I did the Kream stuff.. It doesnt work very well but it will get you by... Make sure to put an inline filer in after you are all done to catch all the Kreme that didnt stick  :thumb:
