So the story is, i have been riding motorcycles since i was 6 years old (20 now).. every weekend would go up to the cabin and ride.. last april i bought a 1990 gs500e... wonderful decision (was on a budget, first true street bike, cheap).. well i have to admit.. this april i started having an affair with my new-to-me 2001 sv650.  I have been too busy riding her to post about her to you all.  Well today its rainy and im finishing up buttoning up my gs.. so i thought i would take a few min. to post about the sv.  As soon its sunny out im planning a what is sure to be sexy twin photo shoot with the girls.  Here is the only pic i have of the sv so far.  Did i mention im in love.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Thanks to advances in automation, Nike shoes will be made by robots. Unfortunately, the robots will be made by children in Malaysia.

Hipocracy.... becoming more acceptable with the more power you think you have.

I think that's exactly what I would want if I got an SV... except it would be nice to have FI

The 01 SV is a great ride.  My girlfriend has one and I have put quite a bit of mileage on it.  Enjoy it!!!

def. would have gone 03'+ for the FI but $ was an issue.. I love the ride, great bike, def. recommend it.  Any good places besides svrider.com... i dont really like that site though.. for the forum at least, nothing this nice.

Nice! Good choice.

If only I had a seat like that on my GS...
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

That Blue does look Great! :thumb: so any SV650 older than 03 is carb'd, hmmmm.....

+1 I'd love that seat on my GS *and* on my SVS. The '06's have VERY sharp-edged seats...and they're REALLY butt breakers!

this seat isn't the best either.. i was feeling it after a 100 mile trek.. but much under 50 miles its pretty forgiving.

ya sv's older than 03' are carbed.. but at least mine is nowhere near as cold blooded as my gs.. which is a 90' so im assuming the carbs have come a long way since then.  so other than the response FI gives you.. i dont feel like im missing out too much.  just happy to be riding
