Banned?   Wow.   I never expected that to happen.  But I offer my sincerest apologies to whomever I have offended.   

Interesting to note that I was banned for "ban evasion", whatever that means.   

Once you are banned, there is no way to contact anyone on this site, and the contact email address provided only bounces back as undeliverable.   So the only way I could contact ANYONE here was to create a new account and make a posting for EVERYONE.   

At any rate, thanks to everyone for their help in the past.   I'm out of here.

Well!

I just had to make a few phone calls to my friends at Halliburton and Microsoft, and they handled the rest.    Let's just say that some GSTwin moderators will be doing their jobs in a certain middle eastern country for a while.   And I have been un-banned.

Well the email is fixed anyway.  We try not to expose our email address for spam reasons and to keep the net crazies from bothering us.

The problem with IP blocking is it works very well.  If I block 255.255.255.* I block not one address but 255 possible ones.  We don't often use wildcards but sometimes we have to if the banned member is trying to evade a bann.  Also many ISP's constantly renew clients leased IP's which means Caffene tonight could have AJGS's IP tomorrow if they have the same provider and possible near location.

Sadly sometimes we have to piss off a few members when we bann people for the good of all people here.  I see a big bann stick coming out soon so if people see they are banned in the reason message it will state who was actually banned, if not you then you casn use the new working contact email.

Damn....so sorry to hear that you were caught in the SPAM ban net. I'm not sure what happened, but we'll definitely look into it, and now would be a good time to take note of some of the mod/admin e-mails just in case.    And we'll work on getting a working working e-mail or two for members to write to when they have a problem with their account.
