Wow, that sucks.  But yeah, helmets are very important. Seems like that would be a given to any rider, but for some reason it isn't.

Oh yah, say hi to Slipknot for me.  :icon_razz:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

You know, I thought that too for a while. There's a helmet law here, but no one pays attention to it. I figure if they don't want to wear a helmet and they die, well, that's their fault. Sucks for them. If they're going to be stupid, at least they'll have a chance of dieing in the process.

I sound bitter, don't I?

just the other day I was riding with my buddy and he ended up wraping his bike around a pole. I had never seen anything like that first hand before; it REALLY sucks! he got really lucky as he jumped off the bike just before it hit the pole, flew between the pole and the support wire that was holding the pole up, and landed in some bushes. bike was totaled but he was fine.

and the same day, my other friend wend down on his GSXR400. some guy in an SUV pulled out right infront of him and he ended up bounching off of the side of it and going down. it really sucks because the bike is maybe one of 4 imported into Canada from Japan and was mint before this happend. he's going through insurance but who knows if he'll be able to get replacment parts for the thing.  :dunno_white:

man, that's sad.  That happened not too far from me. I live in Cedar Rapids, IA. To be honest, I often don't wear helmet. After reading this, I will definately wear more often if not always....

Yeah. The write up on the whole experience is here. It's just another reminder to wear a helmet all the time. Mine happened not but a few blocks from my house.

AJ has pics of her helmet too. There's another reminder.
