Removing the Front Tire(with no center stand!!)

Okay this is a pretty stupid question, but with out having a center stand on my GS what is the easiest way to remove the front wheel.
(the previous owner took it off)

I use two automotive sissor jacks and slowly raise them up in sequence. Its not the most stable method but if your careful it works fine.

With the bike on the centerstand, I put a block of wood on a floor jack and jacked under the oil pan.  No need to worry, it is a sturdy cast aluminum oil pan and I'd guess the floor jack was putting 30-40 lbs of force on it.  Just don't....sit on the bike or anything silly like that.

Also...once the wheel was off, I put the axle back in the forks and put two jack stands under the axle.  Thank God too, when I came out the next morning, the jack had leaked pressure and the bike was resting on the jack stands.  If I hadn't put them there, I would have heard one heck of a nasty "CRASH" sound sometime in the middle of the night.

Go kick the previous owner in the nards until he gives you the centerstand.

get you an old palastic egg crate  (i'm at work so i cant get you a pic. hope you know what i'm takling about )  and  some 2x4s and lift it up on there just like having a center stand but more stable .. or if you have an old toolbox top you should be able to use that . (but put somting on the instde to keep the top from caving in (  i use to do this with my dirtbike when the stand i had broke )

BTW i put one jack under each sides of the frame, its pretty sturdy.

for how long?

for short time

bike on side stand
pull right  handlle bar towards left....tilt the bike on the rear wheel and side stand (front tire in the air).
place a jackstand or sissor jack under the right frame rail with the front tire in the air

same senerio
under a tree/swingset/ rafter from a deck.....
use a tie down on the right handle bar pulling up
