Well on our circuit yesterday touring the bike shops in the Midlands my dad short listed a few bikes he wanted. Hes getting rid of his 00 thundercat to go to a touring bike in the hope to get my mum back on a bike with him since she hates the back of the thundercat.

Bikes he'd like:
A BMW K1200RS and the other variations
Pan European 1300
Triumph Sprint ST

So theres me who couldn't find a GS in good nick so i went home slightly disappointed wheras hes had great fun choosing all the bikes he'd like (rich git) Well anyways they had to go down that area again today to pick up some gardan furniture and he dragged my mum round to sit on some bikes. She loved the comfy 1200RS because of all the panniers and top box so she felt safe on it.

So i get's back from my girlfriends and hes stood in the kitchen with a huge grin on his face. I ask whats so good and he says hes bought a bike. Turns out he'd seen a K1200RS on ebay and so enthusiatic about it drove all the way down to London to check it out and bought it right there and then. Smarmy git picks it up on Tuesday.
I was gutted. Wish i could get my GS that easy and not worry about the cost.

So now hes chuffed to bits makin cheap jokes about how hes got a new bike and i havn't oooo its annoying

Short spec of his K1200RS, 1200cc (obviously), 20k miles, heated grips, abs, servo brakes, autocom and headset, brand new bmw panniers and 52litre top box (luggage alone would cost £700 to buy), new tyres, new brakes and its in blue, comes with a whole host of parts. He paid about £4000 for it.

Those bikes can almost be considered a caravan...ooops for my North American comrades that would be an RV.

Cool rides those beemers.  :thumb: You go dad!

Hey man...what's a "git" exactly? They always called people that in harry potter, but i never figured out what it was (other than some sort of derogatory term). That and "prat." Fill me in on British name-calling.

Well a git would prolly be just another name for a person but you only really use it when your been derogatry about them or theyre annoying you. So you old git or if someone, pranked you,  you might go "Ya' Git" just more polite than saying you f'ing b*****d

i guess that helps. Thanks. i think i'll try and bring those words to this side of the pond. i'll let you know how it goes. My only exposure to British vocabulary is Monty Python and Harry Potter...
