bog in higher gears?

Finally got to rag on the used gs i bought today.  She runs great at lower rpms, and in lets say in gears 1-4 if you take off hard from a stop and keep her wound up she will pull to 9-10000 rpms easy in every gear up to about 70 mph.  and really go strong.  But what i noticed is in 5-6th gears say cruising at 45-55 mphs (3800-5000rpms)  and you try and goose it does not want to really pull strong.  it doesnt fall on its face but it acts like its bogging some.  Is that just the nature of the gs500 in the high gears .  I noticed its slighlty better if you crack the throttle slower vs trying to whack it to wide open.   IT has a v&h supersport exhaust, kn single filter, and it has been jetted with a dyno jet stage 3 kit.  I dont know exactly what mains are in it,  but I assume the needles and all have been done correctly as the jet kit was installed by a shop.

Let me know if this is what the gs500 normally feels like in the higher gears or if you think i need to look into bigger mains or something wiht the carb set up.

Thanks

pandy

This one was a toughy to find, but I knew it was in there somewhere!  :icon_mrgreen:

In a previous thread, we talked about which gear to be in at what MPH:

It sounds as though you might be in too high a gear for "cruisin" that slowly.... Hope this helps!  :thumb:
