You should be thanking yourself more than the brakes!

anyone can grab a handful of brake and stop quickly, disc brakes are impressive... but it takes practice to do it safely.

good job.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Just wondering.. How have you posted 1100 times but w/ no bike? Did you have one? I have one and I don't have enough questions or know enough for helpful responses lol.

Had to use the old brakes and emergancy manouvas today. Riding through the village out of school and some idiot kid through a rugby ball (almost identical to an american football) right out into the road infront of the bike infront and me. He swerved one way toward the curb on our side of the road. I swerved the other onto the opposing lane, thankfully no traffic was coming. Coulda been nasty  :o

You know what stops me faster than disc brakes? My tennis shoes when I'm running and someone pulls out in front of me. Thank god for our modern technology, I could have died several times now if it weren't for the benefits of high tech composit materials that make up my brake pads, AKA 'soles'.

Partially ADD, partially me answering all the dumb questions (there are no dumb questions, only dumb people ) that noobs ask. I've been around this forum for long enough to know about fuel starvation, PRI vs ON, fuel leaking on PRI, aftermarket exhaust, tires, oil, fuel, etc. So whenever someone asks a question that's been answered before, I'll usually post a short answer, with a link or two to other pertinent threads.

But mostly it's the ADD.

Phaedrus

NiceGuysFinishLast is surprisingly knowledgable for not having a bike. He seems to know more than a lot of noobs that DO have a bike.  He sure knows more than I did before I got a bike.  If all "noobs" knew what he does, they would benefit greatly.  He is definitely ready and deserving of a bike.  :thumb:

Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.
