GS500 brakes suck.   One bloody disc and one bloody caliiper.  That was the only thing I really ever wanted to change on my old GS.

I don't think the stock brakes are that bad at all. I am not a racer, either, but still. If you can't stop a ~40HP bike with the stock brakes, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your braking techniques?  :icon_razz:

They suck?  Sure, they don't have the heat dissipation of a dual rotor setup, but as long as you're not racing and heating them up, it doesn't matter.  The brakes are plenty powerful enough to stop you, and that's what they're for.  The have more stopping power than my new BT45's can take.
