fuel petcock

i just got a 1992 gs500e it was sitting for about 4 years bike would not run i read about the petcock problem so i got a brass 3 way t ran the res from tank to one side of t- ran fuel from tank to the other side of t -ran the middle fitting from the t to the carbs- took off vacume line from carb and plugged it at the carb with a vacume cap the 2 lines from tank to the brass t i put in simple shut off valves turn res off and fuel on or fuel off and res on bike runs great my question is will this be a problem for carbs with vacume plugged if not it only cost about 10.00  to make repair also im guessing the fuel air screws are  on  the bottom of carbs my brass plugs are removed one screw looks like its all the way out and other screw looks all the way inbut the bike runs good what is the proper settings for these i read 2 1/2 turns out stock i have v&h exaust and jets

If I understood coorrectly, your question is if it is okay to plug the vacuum line on the carbs. Frankly, I find it tedious having to read a four line sentence with not even a single period in it. Except for in "10.00".

Yes, it is fine to plug the vacuum line.

Welcome to the board.  I hope you continue to find this place useful.

However, not to be picking on a noob, but I couldn't make any sense of your post.  I've tried several times, but have given up at the second line.  We're not exactly sticklers for perfect grammar, but capitalization and punctuation will get your point across better.  

I did scan for the word question, and no, plugging the vacuum will not hurt.  The only problem may be if your float valves stick open and you drain your fuel tank if you don't have a shutoff.
