Popping while warming up?

My GS doesn't run smoothly while warming up, or at least while the choke is on.  A "popping" sound is the best I can describe it.

BduuuuuuuuuBduuuuuuuuuuuuBduuuuuuuuuuu is the best way I know how to describe the sound.  Like it stumbles for just a half-second every few seconds.

A couple of times I needed to start moving quickly and rode with the choke still half-on for the first minute.  I felt the power cutting out for a split second every few seconds.  At this point, I went ahead and turned off the choke and it smoothed out.

Is this normal, or is it a symptom of a problem?  Thanks in advance!

its running alittle rich with the choke on, it may have been tuned at altitude, dont open the choke as much so you let a little more air get in,
try that and let us know, im sure the other guys will let you know if they think of some thing else
pod filters, costum r6 quill exhaust(no baffles)40/140 jets, heavy duty springs, sv650 rear shock, gsxr srad tail, bandit 600 4.5 inch rim with 150 tyre, gsx twin disc front end "1995 pocket rocket"  ridden by a kiwi in scotland

i have had the same thing happen to me with my 2006 GS before.  i thought it was normal cuz the choke was on so it was giving it a little gas while i was riding.
