I got Soma's (from tlzone.net) bike slapped together today...it's not 100% done but I'll be able to get her finnished Sunday night/monday morning.

This is the first TLS I've put together that kept teh dual exhaust.  As of now I can say that the stock headers fit better than anything else so far...I'm going to have to actually notch all the swingarms a bit but not so much with this bike.  Good stuff.

Here's her pivot:

It's amazing what you can make with a stick of rolled bar, two files, a chisel, some sand paper, and a good mill head...

good hea...never mind. seems odd keeping the duals with such an effort to expose the wheel with sssa. even the 955i daytona guys run their exhausts on the other side just to play up the sssa.

well...for less than $1400 from me you lose 11lbs from the bike all together, and 7 of that is from the rotating assembly.  Think about how significant that 7lbs is!  Then there's the VASTLY superior suspension!  Current market bolt in shocks for the TL run $650 for the cheapo Bitubo up to $1300 for the Ohlins, tuning and necessary mounting bracketry.  Not only does this Sachs perform every bit as well as the Bitubo piece, but you can buy a NEW bolt-in ready to go Ohlins piece for $800.  Then there's just the pimp idea of having a single side swingarm.

Most of the poeple I've sold were either running some variety of undertail or they were running an Old-school D&D setup (two pipes on the left side)...but I've gotten LOTS of inquiries about the kit and having two cans.  Most of the wheel is still visible and I think it still looks pretty good.  Too bad the bike I'm using as a model has beat up yoshies...

That's pretty hot.

Is is just me, or does the TL look like the love child of a first gen SV and Katana?
