When using kerosene is it bad on the o-rings to just soak the chain in the kerosene? or is it better to use a rag and a brush? Also is there a curtin type of kerosene to use or is kerosene, just kerosene? thanks

Regarding this matter, what's the easiers way to remove the chain to soak in kerosene?  How long does removal and installation take on average?

Kerosene (Parafin to Europeans) is the ideal thing, some people say WD40 or one of it's many clones. I'm a great believer in "use what you have" Unless a chain was real bad I would not take it off yust but the bike on centre stand, crank the back whel and work in kerosene with a small pain brush, both sides, osmosis will help you if you leave it a while, then lube or wax or do what i did being a lazy and forgetful type, fit a Scotoiler.
