on a more serious note they are EXCELLENT vehicles. I can speak from experience that any CRV year you get will have an excellent motor. Either a B20 or K24 so no worries about reliability. My parents have an 05 Special Edition and it is definitely pimp-tastic. A friend of mine whose family exclusively drive bimmers was extermely suprised with the build quality and commented that if there was a mercedes badge on it he wouldn't have been able to tell it was a honda.

i have an '01 crv lx.  great multipurposes car.  i love to take it on camping/snowboarding trips 'cause my friends' cars are too small to pack the equipments.  the engine has been good to me for the past 5 years.  after the last oil change, i am hearing some squeaky noise in the back though so i might need to get a brake job done soon.  well, read up some reviews on line and compare it with the rav4 + other cars.  if i am you, i would go test drive it before buying it

My dad used to have one - I would swap him for my little car whenever I was going camping. Great vehicle for doing outdoorsy stuff, a lot of nice little touches.

My dad found it somewhat underpowered. If you want an SUV to pull a boat or a camper it may not be your best bet. But a great driving vehicle.
