Seat bites my butt!

Riding along after about 80 - 90 miles I notice a pain in my touche. I'm sure others have had this happen. Right where your legg connects to your butt. The seat kills me!

Anyone had, and fixed this problem? My tail end hurts.
Rich, RIP.

It hurts my ass too.  Ummm gel type bike shorts????

The GS's seat is about an inch and a half too skinny on each side for my boney arse on long trips. After about 75km the pressure gets the better of me and monkey butt starts to set in. I've thought about buying a used seat from a wrecker and getting it done up with some thicker, wider foam, possibly with some of that NASA style memory foam in it.

I ordered an airvent cushion #1 standard ultracool.

Just curious do you have an 89-00 or a 01+ ??  My 93 really doesn't bother me  :dunno_white:
'93 cf two bros can, alsa cobalt blue custom paint, fenderectomy, repositioned directionals, 15t sprocket, ignition advancer, SM2's, national cycle f-16 dark sport, cbr rearsets - fully rebuilt after a crash

I believe the 89-00 seats have a Corbin replacement available.  If you have one of those years, get one of them suckers. That would be "schweet".  :icon_razz:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Or, you could get one of the Suzuki Gel seats for about $100, but I don't know if you'll find any.  Or, you could slide back.  Good luck.

Here is an animated GIF someone posted years ago, before I got my Suzuki gel seat.  One of these days I'll take my own pics.  :icon_rolleyes:

Personally, I prefer the stock seat on my '99.  I only swap it for the gel seat when my wife wants to come along.

Lee from Toronto talks about the Airhawk pad he put on his seat.  I'm still thinking about getting one but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Corbin probably makes one for the GS, if not they will do your seat pan up however you want it.  I used to live about 6 miles from their factory and they will treat you right.  You might try Sargent seats, also.

ajgs500

Corbin makes one for the '89 -00 models any model after that and your screwed.  There are numorous threads about them giving the run around to people with '01+ bikes.

Bicycle shorts; the padded kind (if you can find them anymore!  :icon_rolleyes: ).

I'd love to ride my GS around Australia. So I am paying close attention to this thread.

I find the 05 comfortable on trips I have done (up to 3 hours max so far). But as you know Australia is a big country so I have a feeling I will have no feeling, down under.
