Fuel hose stuck on petcock?

So I've been working on this for the better part of an hour, and I simply cannot get either hose to budge off of the petcock.


Any tricks for pulling these guys off?


I can always resort to cutting the hose, but I'd prefer just to get em yanked off so I can reuse them.

the best way to break it loose is to twist it.  I use a pair of pliers to grab it and rotate the hose.

Well... The hoses came off, with the brass ends that go into the petcock itself.


Its like the PO superglued the fuelhoses on there. Should I plan on replacing the petcock altogther now?

I sssume that is a tank petcock, based on the fact that it has brass spigots. Mine did the same.

No need to replace the petcock. It helps if you drain the tank and remove the petcock. Remove the mesh air filter and set the petcock on the bench with spigots facing upwards. Then insert the spigot back into the petcock. Apply some pressure. It probably will get seated inside of the petcock enough to try using  a flat screwdriver and pariently work around to pry the hose off. Worst thing worse, you would have to cut the hose off. Once the hose is off, one way or another, gently tap the brass spigot with a mallet to seat it even better.

Best way to prevent this is to use a flat screwdriver to lever the hose off the spigot.
