Repairs have started on my GS (FIXED)

I still haven't received my rear rim (hopefully sometime this week), but I decided to remove my front rim to have replaced.  I bought a front rim from Blue05Twin, but if my local dealer can repair the rim, I'll have an extra front rim.

So back on topic...  I'm kinda surprised at how easy and quick I was able to remove the front wheel.

Tomorrow, when I pick up the repaired rim, hopefully I'll have the same luck with the rear rim and rear shock.

Well, I just got my rim back from being repaired ($50).

That was easy, except for the 100 degree weather.  I was producing around 1 gallon a minute!!!  HOLY COW!!!

As soon as I finished with the front, I just took the tools inside and here I am.  It's WAAAAAY too hot outside to do anything.

On a plus side...  The repair didn't ruin the rim tape on the front rim, so I basically need one roll for the rear, since I still have the extra roll.

can you post a pic of your bike with the rim stripes on it? I think I have seen it before but I am not sure.

It's actually an ok size.  I can use it as a backpack when I'm in class.

Not bad for $90

UPDATE:

The front rim is fixed.  $50.  $100 if you wanna count the rim I bought from Dave (Blue05Twin).

The rear is off the bike and I just have to take it to the shop tomorrow morning to have mounted.

I looked at the damaged rim, and I finally noticed that the tire was deflated.  That might be the reason the bike was sitting so low.  So I might have bought the rear axle and rear shock for nothing.   :dunno_white:

Did you put some of your extra rim tape on your bar ends?

I went a bit tape happy the day I installed my rimtape.  Doesn't really look good, but I've been too lazy to remove it.

UPDATE:

I picked up the rear rim this morning.  It took 30 minutes to install...  Mainly cause I tightened the axle BEFORE I bolted the brake caliper in...

After 10 minutes trying to bolt the caliper in, I decided to give it a shot and loosen the axle...  After that, the whole process to finish up took 5 minutes.  Man, was I pissed at myself!

I rode around my neighborhood for about 4 miles.  Went home, and got ready for work.  Rode to work for the first time.

It's actually sounding DEEPER?!?!?!?  I'm kinda excited, but at the same time, kinda worried that something is wrong...  I know it's not psychological, because I've been going outside to start her up every couple days (revving the engine of course).

Any ideas?  Other than that...

Do you wear earplugs and forgot to put them in this time? Did you NOT wear earplugs before and started today?  Don't ask me how I know about this...  :icon_lol:

Even at HIGH rpm's, the sound is LOVELY!!!  It's like I installed an aftermarket set of pipes or something.

I know it sounds diff when not moving, but I'm talking about on the road.  I'm in first then second gear, and get up to 8K rpm before shifting, and normally it sounds high pitched, but not today.
