:thumb: Hi All.   After both reading extensively on this awesome forum and going out to actually look at my six year old stock Exedras (bad news) I decided to part with the necessary cash to buy new tires.  First, about my old tires: Although they only have just about 5500 mi. on them, due to the 2001 GS sitting in a garage for four years, they are almost down to the wear bars on the rear tire, both front and rear tread grooves show dry rot cracking, and last but not least there is a small gash, as in a quarter inch, on the rear  tread from a small piece of steel shard that I dug out.

I read all about the favorite tires you all like for the venerable GS, including the:
Pirelli Demons
Avon 45/46's
Avon 51/52's
Bridgestone BT45's
and the Popular Metzeler Z4/Z2 combo.

Lots and lots of you loyal GS'ers gave lots and lots of feedback on your choices.  Special thanks to GS Jack for his continued product testing which benefits all of us!

Well, long story longer, I decided on the Pirelli Sport Demons for several reasons: Very Grippy tires, good wear mileage, great handling on the turns, very good in the rain (I'm in Florida, hehe).  I choose the stock sizes to keep handling predictable and avoid any possibility of tire rub on the rear tire.

After shopping about six of the recommended sites, as in GS Jack's list, I decided on The Motorcycle Superstore https://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/   Free Fed X shipping (over $100)  and just $5.00 per tire for handling.

Rear Tire 130/70H-17    $77.99
Front Tire 110/70H-17   $79.99
Handeling                    $10.00
Shipping                      $   .00
Total                         $167.99

Funny that the front one cost more than the rear one?

Great deal on the tires. Don't expect anymore mileage out the the Sport Demons than the stock tires. But they're grippy in the wet and dry so they should be well worth the low mileage.

 :)Hi All,
Yeah the price was the lowest of all retailers i checked and lowest of all the tires i mentioned, like by $40 or more, except for the Avon 51/52's, which were about $50 less.  But the Avons are definitely not at the same level as the Sport Demons, IMHO.

I will repost when they come in and they are mounted and balanced and ridden on!
One of my local MC shops will balance and mount on my rims that i bring in for $20 each.

By the way, anyone have feedback on the buying experiene at The Motorcycle Superstore? ;)

I bought a mesh jacket and gloves from them a month ago.  Shipping was a little slower (it took 2-3 days to leave their place) than others, but great prices and reasonable shipping times.

I've ordered my Sport Demons (2 rears and a front) from Motorcycle-Superstore.com every time. Good sale prices on the Sport Demons.

As a note, I got less miles out of my rear Sport Demon than I did my stock BT45s. 4000 out of my last rear tire, compared to 7000 with the BT45s. However, since I only put 2000 on the BT45s, the Sport Demons might have worn faster as my confidence increased.

Good choice, though!
