I've always considered the size of the tank when I've purchased my motorcycles, and I knew there was a reason motorcycle manufacturers made their bikes the way they did back in the 60's and 70's...

Another reason why I chose the older model GS'es.

yeah Pandy, but have you tried, ahem, leaning heavily on the nice metal tank of yours? I can't get my dang chin in the little dent made for it because my chest gets in the way, then you hit a bump and it's like - mother @#)(@($&! :)  :icon_mrgreen:

Hmmm....just how fast are you going that you need to put your chin on your tank??  :nono:

I couldn't get my chin down to the tank if I tried.

My tank doesn't offer itself high enough to act as a resting place for my chin. What were YOU thinking?  :flipoff:

I'd still rather have girly problems on a bike than...ahem....boys' problems. ;-)

I've thought about wearing a cup before, for this exact reason. But I never heard about anyone doing it, so I didn't think it was necessary. Now I see that it is. Yikes. I like my balls and boners how they are, thank you very much.

Your tank looks awful high purple princess! Mine is way up there now, but even on my GS I used to always lay on it if I could. ANd it's not fast, I'm being "conservative" for wind drag and noise reduction :)

Just the other day I was trying to figure out how to install some padding on the back of the tank.  This was after a ride where I had to turn around in a very bumpy gravel driveway and managed to inflict a good amount of pain on myself.  The worst part was it didn't set until after getting back on the road.  I seriously thought I was going to have to vomit at 35 mph.

:flipoff:  I definitely lean on my tank for comfort (and to take pressure off my bum shoulder), but I've never tucked far enough to get my chin down on my tank....at least I don't think so.... ??? Now I have to test that out on my ride home tonight!  :icon_rolleyes: :icon_lol:

As for fast, pony princess, are you following traditional break-in? How fast HAVE you gone?  :icon_razz:

Um, I followed it for precisely 81 miles of going 49mph in flippin 6th gear to keep my RPMs under 4000, then said screw it and went to my favorite Kawaskai racer man who just happens to own a motorcycle shop, and had him break it in on the dyno!!!! So I, personally have only done 84 thus far, but it "personally" without my butt on it has done 159 on the dyno!!!!!  :o

It's not cheating! You try getting to my work without going on the highway, and to be on the highway around here you have to be going around 84, and I couldn't go over 48 for like 500 miles, so I figured it's worth breaking it in the hard way :)

It has... 285!!! It's in for it's first oil change right now (so let's see how many miles it has when it comes out) - he suggested since it was broken in on the dyno to get the oil changed prior to the first 500 miles, so I am...
