I dropped by bike (GS500F 2005) and looks like I bend the shift lever and got a bunch of scratches on the fairing.  The gears change is smooth and the bike rides fine.  So the damage is cosmetic. The question is from where do I get a shift lever and can I get one that has a hinge at the end (like the after market ones on dirt bike).  Any help would be welcome.  Also can I bring the lever back to shape? and yes any idea how?

Funny the rearview mirror folded completely and did not get damage and the blinkers twisted but popped right back.  I think Suzuki defiantly put some time designing these bits and pieces.

And, you're alright?

The mirror and blinkers are designed that way, definitley a smart thing by all manufacturers.

Shift lever you can get almost anywhere.  Local Suzuki m/c shop, online places like RonAyers.com, maybe a m/c salvage yard for a used one.  Or, you can be experimental and look for a dirtbike shift lever that will work with our shift shaft.  Places that I would look for such an item would be the local m/c boneyard, or walk into a m/c shop and look at the new dirtbikes, or dual-purpose bikes.  Maybe even the Suzuki DL650 or DL1000 V-Strom's.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I had a TourMaster draft on me with Icon super duty gloves.  So no road rash. I have a Shoei that did not touch the ground.   Which is good since that would mean I would have to replace the helmet (after a crash) and that sucker is not cheap!!  Thanks for asking.
