galahs

Its called a balajnce pipe.

They are designed to help exhaust scavenging. When placed in the correct position they will help low speed exhaust flow. Low down torque but may limit top end peak power.

As an exhaust pulse pases the balance pipe a slight vacuum is created in the balance pipe which helps to pull down the exhaust gases trapped in the other cylinders pipe.

They also help to quieten the exhaust by allowing the exhaust pulse to expand, hence disipating the sound wave alittle.

The also stiffen up the exhaust structure for less vibration.
