Putting this on,  how does it make for 2up riding.  I know it changes the pitch of the rear of the bike. But does it change it so much that it will make 2uping uncomfortable?

Also,  I dont imagine this to be hard to do, but has anyone tried it, if so how hard was it

PS. God damn the katana is one ugly bike.

they are heaps better shocks as they have a decent spring and good preload adjustments, it will lift the arse a bit, 1.5 to 2 inchs, but thats defently a good thing on a gs(unless you happen to be a midgit) :icon_mrgreen:
id go for it, your not restricted to the gsx shock you can also go for a rgv250 shock(a awesome shock that doesn't raise your bike) , a sv 650 shock(with a bit of a mod). also you can get the gsxr shock to fit(only if you dont have the air box any more(as the resivoir is in the way of the air box))
as for passenger comfort, who gives a f$(k about them. it wont make any difference to them by will make your gs feel safer riding with a passenger,
pod filters, costum r6 quill exhaust(no baffles)40/140 jets, heavy duty springs, sv650 rear shock, gsxr srad tail, bandit 600 4.5 inch rim with 150 tyre, gsx twin disc front end "1995 pocket rocket"  ridden by a kiwi in scotland

gsxr shock is fabulous, i have a 93 gsxr shock on my 93 gs500, love it, i'm 240lbs, my girl is 175 ish, 2 up it's not bad. do it!
The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

So basically if you don't have the airbox, the Katana and GSXR shock will fit fine. With no other modifications necessary right?

I thought it was the GSX (katana) shock not the GSXR

BTW.  I think the GSXR should have a cool name, like kawasaki has Ninja,  or GSX1300R Hayabusa.

Maybe something like WAR HAWK!!!  something very testosterony

GSX... they work,
lots have done it... but i parted down some GSXR's   and kept the shocks
so i still have 2 left
i'll find a use for them

the gsx(katana has a remote resivoir) same as the rgv the gsxr(srad model) will also fit but has the resivoir on the top of the shock so won't go in if you have the air box in there
pod filters, costum r6 quill exhaust(no baffles)40/140 jets, heavy duty springs, sv650 rear shock, gsxr srad tail, bandit 600 4.5 inch rim with 150 tyre, gsx twin disc front end "1995 pocket rocket"  ridden by a kiwi in scotland

when the fuk did the Katana come with a remote res???????

missed the srad part above......

88 gsxr....no res but adjustable rebound...2 way
89-95 remote res....3 way
96--up res mounted to shock body...3 way ...but will raise a sv 1.5-2 incches...therefore a GS...3-4 inches.....probably need to modify the top shock mount...bob b or dgyver have done this....and i need to... to get the RG-V braced arm in there

i don't know crap about kanatunas... i do know about GSXR's
