i've just changed the bars on my 05GSF to the clip ons - and looks and rides awesome... but i have a new problem.. my bike's finding false neutral all the time now... i checked/adjusted the clutch lever to suit what the manual says but it's still doing it.. my bike's got just over 5000km's on it so wouldn't expect the gearbox to have any dramas - so i'm a little suspect about the clutch..

any ideas???

I suspect that the change in riding position might be causing problems with shifting.
Especially shifting up gears.
with clipon's you'll have to consciously lift your toes higher when upshifting.
Alternatively you could move your shift lever.

On the other hand it could be a mechanical problem.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

You might need to take the shifter off the splines and rotate it down one spline so you don't have to pull up so far.

i find that my F N's come like clock work when due for a oil change. i change the oil and the problem stops till the 2500M mark and starts again. when was the last oil change?

seems the F N's are only happening when i down shift - so no lazy toe syndrome.. :icon_mrgreen:

As for the oil change - last oil change was at 1500km's so it's probably due for one about now...

a down shift F N wow i didn' think that was possable.

are you bliping the throttle after pulling in the clutch and down shifting?

yeap... i'm doin that.... think i've managed to work out it's doin it between 3rd and 2nd on the downshift... sometimes when goin back to 1st from 2nd too...

got me a little worried .... :icon_confused:

rangerbrown

ummm, any thing that was done to the bike that may have caused this to happen?  hard no clutch shifts? up and down?

can't think of anything off-hand.... always use the clutch up or down... :dunno_white:
