Hello there. I just bought my wife a spanking new GS500F. Since she wears an Aerostitch Darien jacket, we felt a tank bra/cover was definitely in order to protect the finish. Does anyone know who offers, or makes, a bra/cover for this model. Thanks.

cool site. my first street bike was a GS425E, the ancestor of your folks bikes.

I am also looking for a tank bra for the new models (mine is 2005). I have a lot of scuff on the right side of the tank, the finish is really getting rubbed off. Anybody else have this problem?

Did you see this one on ebay?

That's weird, I just searched on there last night and nothing came up, but now I found that LP sells some for GS500F and I searched with the cat# 101-809 and now it comes up (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LOCKHART-PHILLIPS-L-P-1-2-T-100-809_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35557QQitemZ120000784004QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V), different from the one you just showed me. I guess I never tried tank cover, I was trying tank bra.
But now I'm not sure if I should get the normal tank bra, or try one of those magnetic ones.

Personally I don't like any type of bra's on my vehicles, when dirt and debry ( sp ) stuff gets under it, it will scratch the paint.  Not sure on the magnetic ones I have seen them on bikes around here but I have never used it.

Also they make these also

Not sure if they make them for the GS, but could be mod'ed to fit the GS tank.

I don't normally use bra's on my cars. Unless I'm taking a nice car for a longer trip I will put it on for a day at a time. But on my motorcycle the right side of the tank is getting very worn, I think I'm thru the clear coat on some parts. And I haven't had the bike for a year yet. I ordered this http://www.mag-knight.com/Simple%20Sheet.htm.

That company that has the magnetic bras, makes those color matching ones, I wish they made them for the GS, then you can hardly tell they are on.

Is there anyway to search what type of bikes uese our tank?  Or are the gas tanks unique for each bike?

Unique for each bike, pretty much. I think the best answer is not a tank bra, but a semi-adhesive clear tank covering. I forget what they are called.
