Onefast and Brian...once I get a test bike, like I said, I'll build a few systems just for kicks...but I still think the plumbing on them will be heinous.

AS for a verbal description of the can:

Can is roughly 3-liters in capacity (yes, I filled it with water and measured).  There's 3 chambers, I think pretty equal in capacity.

Inlet dumps into 1-liter chamber.  From this chamber there are four 1" diameter pipes.  Two go through to the last chamber, two dump into the center chamber.  From the center chamber there is only one exit (right in the middle).  Gasses expand one final time in the last chamber and exit through a single 1" nozzle.

I'll get pics Sunday...I forgot the can and I don't want to just hack away at the center chamber...I'd like the runners to remain intact.  Gonna hit it with the plasma gun.

Mak, if you were any more surgical you'd have to spend five minutes washing your hands before you touched the GS and have a nurse handing you parts and tools.

Beep.... beep..... beeep .... beeeeeeeee...........

We're losing her, get the paddles quick!

ZAAaAAAAaAaaaaAAPPpPPpPPppppP!!!!

Beep, beep, beep.

Another GS saved by Mak.

Or as an alternative....

Mak has the technology, he can make it better, stronger, faster....
Rich, RIP.

Mak, forge me up some 79mm pistons, pronto!

73mm. GS is 74mm stock.

Do pistons have to be made for a specific bike, or if they are the right size can you just fit them on?

My '81 YZ250 had a 454 piston in it...

If it fits...or if you can make it fit...you can use it.  Only considerations that need to be addressed are valve clearances...find something that gots divits in the right places and pattern (4 valve/5 valve/etc) and something that isn't so tall that it smacks the head...and so on...

So yeah...anything that fits.

Alphamazing

So it'd need to be a 2-valve bike and just hope that the piston isn't too tall and we're pretty much golden huh?

Max size piston is 79mm in the stock sleeves (or so I'm told). 79mm gives a displacement of 555cc.

Why am I talking about this? I am selling this sucker next year.

Is the GS engine an interference engine?

onefastgs500

oh yeah the gs is an interference motor!!trust me mine has interfered in my bizness many times(seriuosly the valves will smack the sh*t out the pistons in the event of timing failure)the 555cc kits w/stk sleeves bores the sleeve to paper thin and they will chase a crack up them(seen it 4-5 times)if you knock out the sleeves and bore the jugs and top case half for larger size sleeves 555cc is mild we  are using custom made slugs that are 9mm over stk and still could go 3mil bigger and have plenty of sleeve left.

Woooo getting heavy there.......

Has to do with if the piston will come "above deck" (into the combustion chamber) Valve reliefs, and a whole bunch of stuff, don't know the specifics for the GS, but if anyone has a diagram (with measurements) for the motor I can tell you exactly how extreme you can go. Everything I learned with cars applies here.

Damn skippy I did!  I had a broken bike...but I knew I could make it stronger...better.  I had the technology...

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

makenzie71

hahahaha never confuse possabillity with simplicity.  It required the help of four friends, lots of tools, saws, drills and wrenches and eventually giving $288 to someone who knew what he was doing to make it work before it was something to be ridden.

Then it was all laid to rest when one of my cohorts wrapped out the engine after a small jump...literally blew the jug apart...

If we had it all to do again we'd have sold the fucker as soon as we heard it run...lol

i may end up geting  just the tip form you, super secet tubo project i am working on.
