First of all, great board you guys have here.
Reading some of your posts convinced me the gs was the right first bike for me. I bought an 06 gsf about a month ago, I really like the bike.
Now the bad news. A dog ran in front of me and i hit him . I went flying of the front of the bike and the bike slid down the street a ways. Im uninjured(minus some soreness).
The bike is pretty much uninjured also except for a few minor things. The fairing and can are stratched up a bit (i can live with that for the moment) and the mirror broke off and right peg is bent to hell.  Ive been waiting for almost 2 weeks for my local zuki dealership to contact me back about ordering the replacement mirror and peg. Is there anywhere i can order them for myself? I can get aftermarket or universal is i cant get the stock parts, but im tired of waiting on this slow uncaring dealership. Any suggestions?
Also, since my can is scratched up, i figured i  might look into a slip on. Ive seen posts about exhaust fpr the older models, but what about the 06? IM NOT mechanacly inclined so if there a kit or something i need for rejetting? Just point me in the right direction. thanks

Kerry

Sorry to hear about the accident.  (How's the dog doing?)

For stock parts, take a look at the various vendors on the Parts Fiches page.

For aftermarket parts, just stick around ... lots of sources out there, and lots of members to direct you to them!

Sorry about your mishap. Glad you weren't seriously hurt. The pegs on the 06 are the same pegs/brackets used since the dawn of time-or the first year/'89 gs500 model. If you check ebay I bet you'd find one pretty quick. Maybe someone on here is parting a bike out as well. Check the for sale section for parting out bikes. Post up a pic so I/we can all be sure of what you speak.

Can anyone answer the exhaust portion of the question?  Rejetting seems a bit intimidating to a newb like myself.

Installing a new exhaust will be easier for you than cutting up your pipes for a can.  Or you can get a bike shop to do it for you.  You should rejet either way.  Spend some time searching the site.  Alot of info on DIY.  You'll become a veteran wrencher in no-time.

I've got two '01 stock mirrors i can sell you if they fit the 06 gsf

They'll fit the handlebars (the plugged posts sticking up from the control perches), but not the fairing.
