I crashed my bike about a month ago and was unable to dismantle it until today... here's some pics of my forks which (i believe) are the only things I need replaced, besides a clutch lever.  I'm Going to be honest:  I'm new to all of this.

I called a local Suzuki Dealership and I was quoted an obsence price on this assembly -- $900+.  I want to keep costs down as much as possible becuase 900 bucks is basically half the bike so I was wondering if I could get away with just buying new tubes and the requisite seals and stuff??  I'm also looking into getting progressive springs as well.  If anybody could make any suggestion on what I can/ cannot get away with salvaging what's salvageable on this assembly I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

hey, your forks are bent
yes you can get new tubes
you will also need another lower tripple tree....

might be a whole lot cheaper to buy a used front end
should be able to get forks/tripples   for 100-200 range

Rgr.  Yea I've been looking for a used front end but all the places near me tell me I'm SOL> I'm gonna keep looking though.  Thanks for the confirmation on replacement of the tubes but why, exactly, do I need a new lower trippel tree?  I suppose it behooves me to get a new one just because.

Glad you are ship-shape now.

Nasty crash.

Yeah try a junk-yard for new forks. Heck I'm sure someone makes a full front end replacement for much less than 900 that doesn't come with those horrible .445kg springs.
Rich, RIP.

Check with the motorcycle junkyards.  You can put just about anything you want on there, I've seen CBR, GSXR, Katana, and an old GPZ front end on GS's.  A little machine work and on it goes.

someone will buy your bent lower tripple....for the press in stem......
not much but 10-20 bucks is 10-20 bucks

For an estimate on new OEM parts, go to this page and look under "FRONT DAMPER".

You can compare against other vendors on the Parts Fiches page ... which I apparently need to augment with additional vendors one of these days.
