RIP RICH! We'll miss you buddy!

I didn't know Rich well, but he was one of the first people I noticed among the crowd... helpful & thoughtful.  I hope I can eventually be as good to the noobs as he was with me.

Musical Tribute

Since Ceekie wasn't able to catch the sound portion of the memorial at Four Corners, he created a musical memorial.  :kiss3:

I think the plaque memorial idea is definitly a good idea. As much as we can do for Rich I think should be done.

I realize this happened a while ago, but I just found out about Rich's passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I try will let you know sometime this week a tentative date for this. I want to finalize things with the plaque this week sometime & post up dates to see what's good for the family and everyone on here to wants to attend. I'll be in touch soon. (Rob, I sent you an email.)

I want to run this by everyone and see if anyone has any thoughts or better ideas for the plaque. It will be from the GS site so we should all have some input and I would really appreciate it as well.

Does anyone have any other thoughts as to what to have put on it? Here's what I was thinking... but not sure about the last 2 lines, or if it should be changed or worded differently. I want it to say something about his GS Twin friends & that he'll be missed, but I want it to sound right. I guess I just want it to be perfect for him.

What do you all think? I really appreciate your help.

Here is what I was thinking to put on the plaque:

You will always be in our hearts & thoughts.
Love, Your family & friends at GSTwin

If you think something else would sound better, please let me know.

(Once I know what we want it to say, I will finalize the order and get a date when it will be done. Then I will post up and we can all pick a date, so Rob can tell the fire dept and they can block the road off for us. How does that sound?

Also, Rob needs to know about how many people would be interested in attending this Memorial ride, so please post up if you're interested in attending. Thank you all!  :kiss3:

One more thing... I started a new link to track this info... please see here... http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=28616.0

rest in peace

got my new gsf, came online here to read up on mods - that's how i met phaedrus.

rich did the flange/can exhaust mod & was giving me pointers, he had an extra flange. i was going to ride out to him and pick it up (i was so excited & impatient - i wanted to do that exhaust mod in a bad way). i couldn't get a free moment to ride out there so he shipped it to me - totally trusting an 'internet' friend that he just met. he gave me a good price for the flange & didn't even charge me for shipping. i had to remind him about that and sent the rest of the $$$ to him.

then i got to meet rich in person & a bunch of other gstwin riders at the carlisle, pa ride. i was riding sweeper (well, actually chris was in his car).

i have not been on this forum lately since i've sold the gsf. i read about the carlisle, pa ride from another cycle forum and wanted to see if the kids here were doing it again. then i read the news about rich.

i think, one of the coolest cats on here - you will be remembered.

I haven't been on here for a while as I haven't gone riding since I crashed last summer (over a year ago) and technically, I don't even own a bike right now.

I came by to post something happy, but I am greeted with the news that we've lost 2 members recently. I didn't talk to Rich much, but from what little I did talk to him, he seemed like a great guy. I'm sorry to hear about his loss and even though its more than a month later, I wanted to offer my condolences to his fiance and his family.

Although his life was cut way too short, at least he died doing something he loved to do. Rest in peace, Rich.

All I can say is WOW and that Rich wouldnt want this...

Randy...you have me all wrong...you have no idea :( I DIDNT WANT HIS STUFF....I wanted his MEMORIES. I only asked ONCE...and it was just to have a piece of him.

I'm only doing what Rich would want... and my family and I have only tried to help.

Kim, even if you didn't have any of his things... you will always have a piece of Rich in your heart and in your memories, as we all will. Rich will never be forgotten and will always be a part of each of us who's lives he touched. Everyone handles grief differently. Rich would want everyone to get along... let's not forget this is about Rich and celebrating his life. He will always be remembered.

Randy, I would be honored to be able to meet his Mother when we come up for the Memorial ride. I am looking forward to meeting his whole family & friends. We will see you all on Saturday. Take care & tell I love YOU my thoughts and prayers are with her.

I know this is about celebrating Rich's life, thats all I have been trying to do. I really wanted to be able to with his family, but I'm not sure anymore. Rich would want only good things though..and I'm doing what Rich would want.

I dont want his things...hehe. I guess at the time I just needed something of his because it was right after the fact. I have all I need....his memories!

I was looking at Rich's "myspace" profile tonight. I do this occasionally to remember Rich and the things he loves. It's bittersweet when I see the last day Rich ever signed into his "myspace" account: 06/30/06.

I thought I'd share part of it:

Rich's Blurbs
About me:

I am 25, and happily in love with the girl of my dreams! Kim and I will be getting married in June of 2007, so congratulations to us! We'll keep you posted. I currently work for New York State as an IT guy in a healthcare facility. I am hoping to start working on my bachelor's in the Fall, which will help me further my career in Network Administration.

Who I'd like to meet:
No one in particular. I have a wonderful girl that I am very much in love with, so I am looking for friends only. I am also always looking for local motorcycle riding buddies to ride with or people with common interests. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You touched many lives, Rich, and we'll never be the same again. I'm sending good thoughts of healing for all your family, loved ones, and friends. We still miss you terribly.
