I need a stage 1 jet kit for my 95 gs500e.  Any idea where the cheapest place to buy would be? Any help would be appreciated.

Just put in larger pilot and main jets.  Shim the needles with a stainless steel washer.  Use the search tool.  Tons of info posted

I agree agree with Chris!

Search the forum to find out exactly what jet sizes you need for your bike's setup (aftermarket filters, exhaust, or stock), and order your Mikuni Jets from www.sudco.com.

I am finding out myself that the Jet Kits are pointless waste of money and time. One thread to see is mine from a few days ago: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=28059.0 And keep checking as it progresses.

You have an endless amount of information and support right here in this forum from people who have actually rejetted the GS500. The kit manufacturers offer slim to no support at all.

I have never opened up the carbs before, but after reading more about rejetting it doesnt seem like that difficult a process. The only thing that the Jett Kits have to offer is the instructions on how to dismantle the carbs and put them back together. I came across a .pdf version of DynoJet's instructions somewhere along this website.

Take the time to search the site, ask questions when you have them, and you will save yourself money and probably a few headaches.  :thumb:

I wanna do a stage 3, but im just not sure the power increases

What are the different stages and benefits of rejetting them?

IMO 'stages' (jet kits) are retarded and a waste of your money.  They give you a few jets that you can get for $2.50 a piece and charge you $80 for it.  If you do some research, you can figure out which size jets you need for your setup, and buy them all individualy from the dealer or sudco.  Take you time, do some searching around the board and find out what other people with your setup are using.

Hey Matt,

Once I got the catalog numbers for the jets, my Sudco transaction went so smooooth!

Thanks again for the help.

Hey officespace2, are you running a stock airbox and exhaust?  Let us know what you got and we can direct you to the right jetting.

Tad, unless your running the lunchbox and have the wileyco anb/or an aftermarket exhaust then the stage 1 should be plenty.

Performance gains from rejetting all depends on what mods you have done to your air filter and exhaust.  What they are calling stages reall means how much you have modded
stage 1 = stock

stage 2 = either air filter OR exhaust has been changed

stage3= BOTH air filter and exhaust has been changed

And I would call it more of a tune than a performance gain.  After rejetting the throttle feels so much more responsive.
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.
