Ok i asked this once before awhile ago but i couldn't find it on search.

Ok on my red 93 GS500E the decals on the tank and (warning newbie..) the bodywork under the seat has turned pink. Now I understand that at least one member of this forum likes pink. But for me its a little girly and I'm not.

So when I talked to my local dealership about these. I was told
"They are 80 dollars and we can't guarentee the color since different bikes had different colors"

So the question is where can I get replacements that arent pink? I think I'd like black or silver. I dont want to go to the F stickers because Im pretty sure the paints faded under the original decals. So i'll keep her looking the way she did. Just not with pink.

I apoligize for reposting this. But this time I'm honestly going to get some work and riding done on the GS

I am not sure if I answered before, but have you looked over my published GS color guide? It will give you the color code breakdown to make sure you order the right...well mostly right...decal for your model year.  CLICK HERE and take your time with the document. Do a "Ctrl - F" to find your model year quicker.

After getting to the year, drill down to the body part you need and find the color code that matches your bike for that part. The decal sets are coordinated with the body part codes.

To save you time, here are the three published color options for the GS tape sets for that year:

Color Code A4K = 21J Sherbet Silver Metallic + 1NH Grand Pink +28V Marble Italian Red

Color Code A4L = 13L Bright Silver Metallic + 1NF INP Purple Metallic + 33J Pearl Novelty Black

Color Code A4M = 21J Sherbet Silver Metallic +1TC Phantom Pink Metallic +1HU Deep Purple Metallic

The tape set color code is a composite of three other codes. Choose the best match for your bike.

1993 was the year of the wildest tape sets available. I think the graphics people for Suzuki were into heavy drugs in those days.

The document is a rough first draft. Our recently lost friend, Phaedrus and another Twinner were planning to take my basic information and make a real web page out of it for a Wiki posting.

We, collectively, should see this through if only for Chris' sake.

If I can help you more, let me know.

The other Twinner (sanjay) contacted me yesterday about contributing pages and photos from my stash to the Wiki site.  He plans to go public with the still-sparse framework fairly soon, after some more testing.  I think it will be great, and I hope we can grow it into something Rich would be proud of.

Ok i think what i have matches
Color Code A4K = 21J Sherbet Silver Metallic + 1NH Grand Pink +28V Marble Italian Red

Since marble Italian Red sounds like my bikes color. But what I really need to do is look at what else goes with red on this list. And then go order it. Is there a better place to get these then the dealer? Since $80 seems a bit steep

You may have already checked out the color chart on gstwin.com, but it looks like there were only two basic colors offered then: Black and Red

Take the color code of the tape set and try to price it with some of the online sellers. You will have to pay shipping, which you may not have to with your dealer, but it would at least give you some shopping information.

The color code is usually bolted on the end of a part number. I explain that more on another subpage of my site. That way you can obtain the right color body part by paying attention to the color code.

I think all the parts were originally molded black and then painted other colors as needed. Black would only require a clear coat.

It is great to know that Kerry and Sanjay are following up the basic information I sifted. Once that is working, I can free up the webspace on the little site. My strength is not in webcoding, but in taking something too technical and making it easier to understand.
