i was wondering if the forks to an old gs...mayby like a 92, would they fit an 05?....im new to this so please help

Kerry

Perhaps this old post will help.

NOTE:  Even though I mentioned that the '04 has "new forks" I have never even seen one, so you may want to get confirmation before either committing to try the '92 forks or letting them go....

Looking at the differences between the early 90's and the current configuration in a Suzuki OEM shop manual...

Current model shows a tube diameter of 36.9 mm
Original models -- diameter not specified though well known to be 37 mm.

Current model has a fork gaiter -- that tongue looking plastic piece that rides up with the lower outer tube. Came along around 2000.

The inner tube caps have changed from internal hex wrench to external wrench.

The front brake hose routing is also difference.

All of these are minor differences that would not preclude you from using the '92 forks.
