briging my bike to college

hey im briging my bike to college next week and i was wondering were i should put my lock on? i see some bikes have the lock on the front wheel and other have it on the chain guard. any advice?

I just loop it through the front wheel and part of the frame, since there's nowhere near where i park to lock it to so methign solid.  It's still there so far
