The new (fairinged) GS will make a good accurate 100 no problem. I have had Tarzan Boy's ex GS when it was Cheesy's present bike up to a 115 indicated ... making it a 105 maybe.
That bike was the best way to see the fairing effect first hand.
The bike came to me as an 89 jetted and piped and tuned bike. It was running well.
I slapped the 04 fairing on it.
With the 15lbs of fairing, to 50 it was slower, 50-65 it was a break even with the old 89. And 65 to 115 ... no way a 89 was gonna keep with it.
The bike wasn't tuned in the 2 weeks I had it, and I didn't gain weight not did I grow some special ability to wring it out better ... fairing vs no fairing was all that I can attribute it to.
Its all seat of the pants dyno made on our good old 485 ... and 2 way runs were the norm ...
Cool.
Srinath.
