I'm a little foggy on this thing you call "postwhoring"... perhaps you can explain... I'd appreciate any examples you have to offer.   You know... what not to do.

I'm trying to learn from you mods, you see.  Maybe someday I'll learn to postwhore well enough to become a mod.

Woot!  100th post!  How come I don't get another star or something?

At  one time the whole test area was dedicated to Postwhoring

We had an active member poll here a couple years ago, or a year ago.

I think it was just over 100.  So to assume that there are 5000 people that still look at this site regularly is a mistake.

I wonder how many members have joined since I joined?

Well that's easy.  Go to the main page, scroll down and click on Members.  Click on Joined Date to organize them and look for you.  See what number you are, counting down from the number the page is listing.  Subtract that number from the total number of members.

Edit: well, now I see where I made my mistake in determining the 5000th member.  So Jake D is indeed member 2567, in which case 2495 members have joined since him.

Fair enough.  I joined Gstwin in December of '04.  I was member number 2552.

Since I have joined, 2504 people have joined GStwin.

Holy crap.

Yeah... So...  The number found in your profile is the # of accounts created...  Some accounts have been removed, so the total has changed.  It's a question of HOW you want to count members...

Is it:  A) The total number of accounts created.
or:    B) The total number of existing accounts.

How can our figures be different.

Accounts were Ba-leted

scratch

My first method would of had you as being member 2076, in which case there would have been 2986 new members since.

I would go with A. Total number of accounts created, because that's how you got your number, and he wanted to know how many had joined since he joined, and not how many have been deleted since he joined.

We could have a GStwin Lottery.  Every week, pick a number at random of an active member.  Everybody paypals that dude $1.  Your odds of winning eventually will be good.  And it will only cost you $1 a week to play.

Scratch, can you set this up?
