So we were supposed to have the first Pittsburgh GS ride tomorrow and tonite I go out with my brother for like 20 minutes for a short ride and when I get home i find like a 1 inch screw right through the treads on my rear tire.

So it looks like i'm outta commission tomorrow.  I know a post went around not too long ago, but what's the consensus on patching/plugging rear tires.  BTW I have Dunlop SR's on the bike right now.

Arg I'm so pissed I can't stand it.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

you can temporaryly patch it.. but you might want to replace the tire..

i wonder if motorcycle tire places sell "insurance" like most auto tyre places.

That sucks, man :x
I would do a search for that other thread on tire plugs. It sounded like a lot of experience responding to it. I think the consesus was a new tire was ideal but that a plug put on from the inside was really good to. Although, I would find that other post becuase there was some stuff that may not allow you to use plugs. Like if the puncture is to close to the edge of the tire.

That blows.
If its thougth the tread as you say you should be able to plug it. But a plug should be considered a temporary fix...this is debatable but IMO there is so much riding [no pun intended] on the condition of the tires I personally wouldn't trust it.

Two ways to do it..

One is you hit the "quote" button on the bottom of each post. That will quote that message in your post like i have done it.

THe other is to hit the quote button (in the reply window) and type your message and then hit teh quote button again. Or just type your message and highlight it and hit quote once.
Instead of typing a message you can scroll thru the previos messages and copy and paste some text if you want as a quote.
