I saw the craziest thing today while out on a ride, it looked like a cross between a Suzuki burgman scooter and bike, it had a full windshield that arched over the top of the bike and came back down on the rear, the sides were wide open, and really was the goofiest thing I've ever seen on the road. Wished I could of got a better look but he was going in the opposite direction. I'm sure its something pretty new, does anybody know what the heck it was that I had seen ?  :cookoo:
Being naked was great, but now that I'm older I thought I should cover up!!!!

Yeah, it was probably that ugly piece of shaZam! BMW sells. I haven't seen them outside of Europe, but I suppose a few could have gotten over here. I'm tempted to think BMW designed it just to see how ridiculous they could make something look and still convince people to buy it because of the brand name.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen was a guy riding one of those with pillion passenger (girlfriend maybe?) sitting behind the huge roof thing, holding on desperately with her body totally flattened against the rear window trying to keep from falling off the back. I was rolling.

you know you want to stay on the motorcycle when you go down  :thumb:

If you have seat belt's then the law is you have to wear it. So now its an ugly death-trap! There's no way I would want to be strapped on like that !!

BMW's been saying they want to bring that to the US for years. Since it wouldn't need a helmet to ride. But yes its a bit ugly.

The thing is, you'd have to be the skinniest person ever to stay dry under that roof. The thing is only a foot or so wide, so your head is ok but your shoulders would be soaked. And if the rain is falling in any way other than straight down, you're definitely getting wet.

When BMW first made them. They had said you wouldn't since it had rollover protection.

If one of those falls on its side, and you have the seatbelt on, there's no way you AREN'T hitting your head on the ground.

rollover!?1?1?1!?  If you can roll that biatch, you have more issues than just hitting your head.
it's 5ft tall and 2ft wide, rolling it isn't gonna be an issue.

lowside slides is the danger, even if it keeps you in it still looks like your head will dent the asphalt.

who rides scooters anyway??!!? :cookoo:

Actually I'm seeing more and more of them on the road lately. And mostly ridden by guys. Its a strange sight but i think with the way they look now. They arent as bad a stigma as they used to be. Plus they are automatics which gets a lot of people away from the fear of learning how to shift.
