Washing, and waxing has done nothing.... I don't want to use rubbing compound on it.... any other suggestions?

TragicImage

no. you need the slappy icon....

a spray detailer is actually less effective than wax..... and I used a "Cleaner Wax" which has a mild grit to it.... I hate McGuire's... I wanna go back to Black Magic.

scratch

Nevr-dul on the frame and engine to get rid if waterspots and rust underneath the paint.  I'm not sure if even I would use it on the gastank.  Maybe test in inconspicuous spot?
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

I have like, the classic "Nev-r-Dull"... which was banned some time in the late 40's....  if you're in the same room with it for more than a minute you get all loopy.

I love the stuff.

well, what I ended up doing was.....

after my initial attempt....

I washed it with Dishwasher Degergent.... to remove any old wax deposits (I was and wax about 4x per month).

Then I washed it with regular auto wash.

THEN I used cleaner wax again.

Then I used what little black magic I had left.

Then I used "ICE" wax.

Then I spot detailed....>

For those of you that are worried... it came out fine.

Ripper

WD-40 works on most water spots, to include cleaning of shower doors.

If these are hard water stains, you can use household vinegar (yes, mild acid, I know).
just remember to clean and wax as soon as you're done and presto, no more hard water stains!
I do this for my car, comes out fine.
