Nice story, When we were playing on the twistys in North Carolina (Deals Gap) I pushed my GS further then I had ever before and ended up out paceing a couple of 600cc sport bikes. But it is scarey as HELL taking those turns at full tilt. I think back now about how I was throwing the GS into those turns and scraping my foot pegs. EEK :o Its a huge rush, but you really have to be on your A game and and a super concentrated frame of mind.  Nice thing though now is I can take turns in my neighborhood @ legal speeds and get down way low.

What you have to keep in mind when it comes to showing off is you can display your skills w/o having to do double the speed limit. :thumb:

Actually, buying one for the track is starting to sound very appealing, the guy does alot of trackdays and also rides a cbr600rr (track only). He says he just rides the 500 for economical purposes.

sounds like my boy PABLO!!!!!

**edit--Maybe not ..unless there is a richmond, CA ??

yes, there is. its north of me by quite a bit though, closer to Pandy I think. I didnt keep my gs500 though. Couldnt afford to, nor do I have a place to store an additional bike (otherwise I'd probably get a track bike). I love hearing stories like this though. People are convinced horsepower is the key...when its really skill. I used to run with 600's, liters and my buddies on their bandit1200's...all fell victim to my little gs, until I found a better rider (and there were lots of them)...

The beauty of it all though, is that if you dont keep up, you have an excuse (slow bike), if you kick ass, they have no excuse and you are obviously a superior rider. Rules still hold true when I'm on the track on my 600rr-liters are rolling roadblocks...
